MATRI-X MTBU-X 2-29-08 STUNS ATTENDEES
LOS ANGELES, CA – 3/16/08 The recent “Master The Basics – Unbiased EXTREME” three-day seminar class was yet another success! MATRI-X was very pleased to hear praise from the class about the new “EXTREME” series of the popular MATRI-X training seminar for the restoration and repair of leather, vinyl, plastic and fabric.
The “EXTREME” version of this seminar packs what used to take four days to teach into a concise, fast-paced three-day curriculum. To make this effective, MATRI-X limits the class size to about half of the number of students that are regularly allowed to register for a class.
The students remarked how they really enjoyed the more intimate setting that the smaller class size enabled. This allowed the instructors, Doug Snow and Kian Amirkhizi, to spend more one-on-one time with the students. After attending the class, one student wrote in to express his gratitude:
“Guys I just wanted to thank you for a great training class! You guys were an awesome team. What you are doing with MATRI-X is great and I believe that your dynamic teaching methods will come to be the industry standard. Call me when you get a chance - I had some questions for you about purchasing some products”-T.C.
There was a strong consensus within the attendees that they had experienced an exhausting yet extremely valuable three days of learning. Several students also praised MATRI-X for the way they combine theory and lab in a faced paced “master-planned” learning environment. To accomplish this, the curriculum was constantly busy - not a minute was wasted as every moment was packed with the latest information in repair technology and techniques. Even the delicious well-catered lunches were no time to rest as this time was used to give presentations on various issues related to the industry.
Students also enjoyed a night out on the town in a stretch Chrysler 300 limousine, touring the actual set where the MTV television show “Pimp my Ride” is filmed, along with a visit to the exclusive car museum at Galpin Motors and then seeing the hotspots of Los Angeles and Hollywood.
The latest MATRI-X class dates have been announced for May 2-4, 2008. Join the over 150 technicians that have graduated from this “boot camp” for interior restoration technicians.
"Master The Basics - UNBIASED '07 EXTREME" Enjoys Successful Debut
LOS ANGELES, CA - December 11, 2007 - Judging by the comments and evaluations from students, another MATRI-X innovation has succeeded.
"Master The Basics - UNBIASED '07 EXTREME" recevied warm accolades from the students that attended the debut seminar held December 7-9, 2007 in Los Angeles (Van Nuys), CA. This version of the UNBIASED training that has caught the entire industry's attention focused on a smaller class size, more one-on-one attention from instructors, and a very fast pace through the curriculum that is usually taught over the course of four days.
MATRI-X decided to offer this version of the class to cater to the customers that don't have the time to attend the four-day regular version of the class, for people who learn better in a smaller classroom, and to emphasize the attention that Doug Snow and Kian Amirkhizi (MATRI-X instructors) can devote to each student. "We were really excited to offer this version of the class," said Amikhizi. "And it was great to see how well this worked, we were really able to get to know the students on a more personal level and it was great to have so much time to spend working with them one on one."
Although MATRI-X will offer the regular version of their UNBIASED classes in 2008, they also plan to offer more of the EXTREME version as well. MATRI-X hopes to announce their next training dates when they attend the Mobile Tech Expo in early 2008.
UNBIASED '07 Declared A Success By Recent Graduates
LOS ANGELES, CA - May 28, 2007 - "This was the best, the most complete and informative training I have EVER attended," exclaimed one student when asked what they thought about their experience while attending the latest MATRI-X training, "Master The Basics - UNBIASED '07" that was held May 16-20, 2007 in Los Angeles.
UNBIASED '07 was the first training of a brand new training series created by MATRI-X. The UNBIASED series of trainings are unique in that the seminars are not sponsored by any product manufacturer, which allows the MATRI-X instructors to not only teach the elite repair and restoration techniques developed by MATRI-X, but also to teach students how Doug Snow and Kian Amirkhizi have learned to select the best product for each repair.
This distinction seemed to prove very valuable to the class. "One of the best parts was being able to pick their (Doug & Kian's) brains about how they choose what product to use in the field," stated one graduate. Other graduates mentioned that it was a great opportunity to test and use products they had not had a chance to see before.
Much of the training's success can be attributed to the motivated and dedicated group of people that attended. This talented group of people came from all over the USA and Canada and displayed an amazing energy and focus during the long days of the class. The class worked hard to learn individually as well as a group, with experience levels ranging from people with years in the field to virtual beginners.
Although the class definitely worked hard, they had some chances to enjoy the Los Angeles area as well through some extra-curricular events planned by MATRI-X. On May 16th the class enjoyed an amazing tour and the warm hospitality of the world-famous dealership, Galpin Motors. Along with visiting the "VIP Vault" of Galpin's elite Aston Martin showroom, the UNBIASED '07 class also was thrilled to visit the set of the MTV television series "Pimp My Ride", complete with meeting "Mad Mike", one of the stars of the show. It was also a lot of fun to see vehicles up close that will be on episodes that have not even aired yet.
Another highlight of the training was the Hollywood Tour on Friday night (May 18). The class had a great time seeing the sights of Los Angeles inside a "party limo" that traveled to Venice Beach, Graumann's Chinese Theater and the Universal Studios Citywalk. Everyone seemed to have a great time, even when our limo bus invaded a local "In & Out Burger" to sample one of Southern California's most famous fast-food restaurants.
All in all, the class was a huge success. "Although we still have some bugs to work out of the entire training, we are very happy with how everything turned out," said MATRI-X founder and instructor Kian Amirkhizi. "It seems like what we offered was really appreciated by the students, especially since we were able to teach product selection as well as repair and restoration techniques." MATRI-X plans to offer another class in the UNBIASED '07 series later this year, dates will be announced in the near future, according to Doug & Kian.
